Who We Are
In 1976, the Dawood family established the Dawood Group of Companies and entered into a joint venture with the world-renowned Japanese manufacturer, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., to assemble and manufacture motorcycles in Pakistan under the name Dawood Yamaha (Pvt.) Ltd. The motorcycles quickly became market leaders, and Dawood Yamaha soon became a household name across the country.
A nationwide distribution and service network was established, comprising over 226 dealerships across major metropolitan cities such as Karachi as well as smaller regions including Kashmir, supported by approximately 600 authorized service dealers. The venture achieved localization levels of up to 85% and developed a robust vendor base of more than 60 local suppliers. Extensive technology transfer and engineering know-how were facilitated through comprehensive training programs conducted both locally and internationally, establishing a strong foundation in precision manufacturing and automotive engineering.
In 2006, the Group’s Chairman, Mr. Arif Dawood, a founding member of the Dawood Group of Companies, divested his shareholding in Dawood Yamaha to focus on building an independent engineering enterprise dedicated to automotive and industrial manufacturing.
This vision led to the establishment of Dawood Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. in 2006. The manufacturing facility commenced operations in 2008, specializing in steel stamping, high-pressure aluminum die-casting, and CNC precision machining. Today, Dawood Engineering employs more than 550 people and serves automotive and industrial customers with high-quality engineered components.
In parallel, DE Trading was established in 2007 as an associated company to support engineering operations by supplying industrial tools, equipment, and technical services across Pakistan.
In 2014, MID Pakistan Coil Center (Pvt.) Ltd. was established as a joint venture with Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc., Japan, one of the world’s leading steel trading and processing companies. The facility operates advanced slitting, leveling, and reshearing lines to process steel sheets, strengthening supply chain integration and supporting high-precision manufacturing operations.
Building on decades of engineering expertise and manufacturing excellence, Dawood Engineering has expanded into international markets and today serves customers across Europe, North America, and Asia, supporting global automotive and industrial supply chains.
